I'm using SketchUp 8. I import an object with 4 different parts, each with different materials. Fine. Each part is a different color.

I drag drop black chrome on one of the materials, then shift-left click to copy it, and shift-right click (3 times) to paste it on each of the remaining 3 materials.

Now when I edit any of the single materials-- they all change. If I drag drop a material onto any one of the 4 parts, they all change. How do I 'unlink' the material attributes settings so each material can be unique-- as in when I first imported the model?

I hope this is explained clearly enough :-)

I'm guessing you upgraded to KeyShot 3? this shortcut is now paste and link, recheck the list of shortcuts by pressing 'k' on the keyboard.
I think it's now Ctrl+Shift+Right Click for pasting a material without linking it.

Go to the scene tree and highlight the parts that you want to unlink.  Right click and select "Unlink Materials".
