New user with a few problems

Hi all, new user here.  Never really used rendering software before outside of the primitive stuff built into Solid Edge and NX.  Now I am working with NX and Keyshot.

Problem 1) is related to my settings.  Every time I start keyshot I have to go to preferences and turn down my 3d mouse speed, turn off "restrict to dominant axis" and turn on "model mode".  I click save changes, but they only save for the current session.  How can I save these permanently?

Problems 2-?? are import related, so I'll post a thread in the imort forum.

Do you have write permission to all the folders that KS uses ?

What folder is the settings file placed in?  Can I move it to another location?
