Proe render/mechanism buttons greyed out

Any idea why this is happening? I can see Keyshot running under Auxillary Application and the button are there under customise window but I cant select them?

Hi sorry it took a while to get back here. Yes I do have an assembly open. when I go to the commands dialogue the keyshot tools, render and mechanism buttons are greyed out. should I do it without anything open?

They are not greyed out - just looks like that.
