Radiator valve insert collection

Maybe the bump depth, roughness and color variation are a bit excessive for newly fabricated (and deburred) parts. Vibratory deburring metal is actually done by mixing the parts with polishing stones in a vibrating barrel. So it's a polishing process, with lots of very subtle scratches. The amount and visibility of scratches is also dependant on the metal forming process (cast metal appears rough, milled metal appears shiny).

However, I'd still like to play with the material and textures to see what I can pull off. :)

Yeah - I mean I was simply showing you the same material applied to a simple object in a different environment, I didn't think the 'gates' render showed how nice it looked (in my eyes anyway)

This is what I came up with for my first attempt.
I think I mmight have gone overboard with setting a mood...lol They are just valves not jewlrey. Oh well I had some fun.
