Hello all, I am totally new to the forum, and to keyshot 4.1 after downloading the trial for the Grabcad Challenge. After one days trial, I am very impressed with the rendering capabilities, so fast to get up and running also with the basic lighting.

I have a few questions that you may be able to answer in relation to the animation facets of Keyshot 4.1, or pointers to facets of the forum which may guide me towards my answers.

(1)Is it possible to constrain parts to each other with degrees of freedom, such as moving a chain around sprockets by moving one link and having the others follow?.

(2)Is it possible to follow a path or edge of a part for animation?.

(3)Is it possible to scale parts in the X,Y,Z directions?.

(4)Can you input formulae or run scripts to direct the path of a part?.

Any assistance appreciated.

Thank You!.

Not 100% sure, but I think

1-no
2-no
3-no
4-no

Although I hope it is:

1-not yet
2-not yet
3-not yet
4-not yet

I am not using the animation function (yet) due to a lack of fast enough render-power.  But from what I can hear, they are interested in the VR .. which might be a step up :)
I should ask the KS guys to quickly put on the website that VR doesn't work on WindowsXP .. haha, that might trick IT over here to make more haste with upgrading my machine.

Many thanks for your prompt feedback, just finding my way around the forum at present for any tips or known good practice before I embark on some animation tests. My test renders yesterday were very impressive, and I am eager to delve into the potential facets within the latest version. The physically correct interaction of light and materials is very interesting also.

Acutally - you can scale parts in x, y, z direction.

Can you ? - I was looking for the scale option when in animation mode and I could not find it ...

Just read it again - correct you can't scale using animation.
