KS3 randomly freeze and stop responding

It happens quite often that the program hangs (spinning icon) and does not even five minutes. After this time continues normally. It can cause older hw or amount of memory? It is not quite as weak, even if memory is never enough... Have a 6years old HP pc XW4400WS intel dual core 6600 2.4GHz with 4GB RAM, SSD HD 120gb +250gb data HD Seagate 7200rpm, graphics nvidia quadro 1500fx and win7_64ultimate. He wants to upgrade the hardware, or is the problem somewhere else?

no particular operation. Suddenly and randomly. Mostly when doing import or regeneration of view.
