Unless I'm doing something stupid (and I'm happy to concede that I might be) I can no longer 'preview' my scene thumbnails since updating KS yesterday. I used the 'updater' rather than the full install.
Anybody else seeing (or not seeing) this?
Thanks

Scroll right for settings - it's an awkward-shaped picture...

You and me both, Jeff. All my BIPS are Keyshot logos, too.

Ditto.  Full install of 4.2.35.  Or is there a special setting to show thumbnails?  All others, like SolidWorks, jpeg's, etc. are fine.

Weird- I toggled between the various choices and now the bip's preview.

FYI: We are looking into this one guys - Thanks for your input so far.

What I meant was that they previewed in the "Preview Window", but of course show as the KS logo in Explorer.

I've found that if you just update, the windows preview stops functioning

To rectify this, remove KeyShot and do a full install.

I mistakenly updated, realised the preview wasn't working, so did a full install, it still wasn't working... but uninstalling and reinstalling solved it

So.. do we think this is a Windows Explorer issue or a KS issue?
What I mean is, should I uninstall/reinstall or will there be a fix coming?
Thanks

Claus Jensen

Metal Master is right. This is actually an issue in the update installer.

If you want a manual fix right now, then follow these steps:

  • start a command prompt with administrator rights (Go to Start->Programs->Accessories and right click on command prompt and choose "Run as administrator")
  • go to your KeyShot 4 binaries, could i.e. be cd "Program Files\KeyShot4\bin", but depends on your installation
  • execute this command: regsvr32 KeyShot-ph.dll

That's it.

Thanks, Claus and MetalMaster. That worked fine.
