To all the Keyshooters and genuine users of the forum, I offer this rather over-engineered snowflake to wish a Merry Christmas and a fruitful 2014, especially those among us who've struggled in 2013 (this means you, TMM).

Now, talking of hexes....to all you spammers - I hope this image induces a recurring dream in which you have to follow the tightening sequence for this 4000-bolt pattern under a particularly exacting Chief Engineer. Then, when you've secured the last of the fasteners, I hope you realise you've forgotten the gasket. Finally, may the excess of erectile enhancers in your bloodstream explode bids of your anatomy all over your cheap watch.

Nice fractal! ;)

Hilarious comment about Sirs Spamalot btw. ;D

Best wishes to you too.

Cheers, Vries.

In a former life, I was a bit of a fractal nut. So the old me would have been very interested that the number of bolts in an n-th level fractal of this type is 1+1½(5n-1-1).

For a still on my machine, I thought six levels (4687 bolts) was enough. Of course, if Santa brought me a Boxx like Speedster's, I could go higher (level 10 = 2,929,687 – almost as complex as the Walschaerts mechanisms on one of his trains ;))  and do an animated zoom-in.

Nature, of course, is not limited by processing cores. Check out these stunning images of real-life snowflakes.
