Can anyone offer me some help in achieving this tortoise shell material? I'm trying to get close to the frame material used in this group photo of sunglasses. Maybe not quite as dark as the front section is, but the same overall feeling.

I've attached my rendering of where I am. It's getting close, but the only way I can figure out to get the dark flecks is to use Dielectric with the marble texture. But I have to add the flecks as a decal, and I can't get them to look like they are in the resin verses decal'd on top of the surface. I've tried the transparent white decal trick to add gloss to it, but the black flecks then reflect a light gray (almost a posterized look) and don't look convincing.

Thanks, in advance for any suggestions!!

Hi Thomas,
How do I contact Richard?

Hi Robb,

The closest I could get to achieving this material was using an offset surface with an opacity map. Using the other links as a base for the tortoise shell material (Dielectric + procedural marble), I used an offset metal surface with a noisy opacity map. Let me know if this helps, my only other suggestion would be using multiple renders and some Photoshopping :/
