No it's not.
I rendered out the machine in four different versions.
One with the base paint, one totally covered in dirt, one covered with rust and one in scratched metal.
Then I used Photoshop to mask the different layers in and out.

Quite effective technique for still images.

Going for  fisheye look? Would love to see some detail of the texturing. Looks great.
