For performance reasons in SolidWorks I don't use a very high image quality. This means that circles are approximated with polygons.

Now here is the problem: I am using the latest version of SolidWorks Plug-In of KeyShot and, when I give the command "Render" in SolidWorks I notice that KeyShot opens with a low-quality geometry model like the one that I see in SolidWorks.

Is there anything that I can do to improve the quality of the geometry so that a circle will be rendered as a circle and not as a polygon?

I noticed that also increasing SolidWorks image quality I never get the "perfect" geometry that I expect, as you can see in the two attached images.

Thanks for any help.

These problems could all be behind us in KS5, which is gonna import actual NURBS. Sorry, this doesn't really give you any help or answer your question at all.

You'll need to push the SW image quality slider into the "red" zone to get more polys. You could also import the model through the keyshot interface and use the new importers which let you set the tessellation quality (not sure if it's the new importers or the "old" importers that let you do this).

Thanks for your message but it did not help :(.

Thanks.

I already pushed the slider all to the right in the previous image, and it is not convenient to work in this way for me :( because I get a serious performance drop with the largest models that I am using (and that I need to render quickly).

I tried to import directly from the software using "new importer" and setting the tessellation quality to the maximum value but it seems that the model is imported with low quality settings :(.

I do hope that a future release of KeyShot will implement in a better way SolidWorks geometry import :(.

If you can share your model we can take a look.

As mentioned before in KS5 you will be able to render NURBS directly.

Thanks for your answer. Unfortunately I don't have one particular model that gives me problems but more than one, I can't really get the look that I want unless I set the quality in SolidWorks to an high value. This sometimes is a problem.

I'll wait for KS5 :).
