Hi Guys! Good News!!

Kevin made it into a 26 monster stand off at the Stan Winston Competition. If he gets enough likes they will build a monster suit of him and bring him to life! How cool would that be!

Please click on the link, like Kevin and share!

Hi Guys!

Keyshot 5 is awesome! Here's my latest personal project. Please let me know what you think.

Hey would anyone be up for a render challenge of this guy? Ill give you the Keyshot package to render it out and see what you can do.

WOW!! Impressive twin feed system - I would give him/her the scientific name of gemina exiebat vitiosum raptor (Twin Mouthed Viscous Raptor)
And it would be cool to see what would come from a challenge ;)

Thanks a bunch!  Skin looks exactly like the chicken we just had for dinner!  Neat stuff... the render, not the chicken!

Excellent render J. I'd love to play with it myself. How did you make the steam coming off the water, was it in post?

Wow one of the best I have seen on this forum, lighting is amazing. Would you be so kind to share the process? What software did you use to model in, what did you use for post and what did you mode and what did you do in post? What time scale did it take to do a render like this?. Great to see peoples work but even better to learn from it  ;)

Thanks guys! Martin! Gemina exiebat vitiosum raptor is his new name! Awesome!

Here's a quick breakdown...

Sculpted in Zbrush in about two days, decimated and exported to Keyshot. About 3 to 4 hours playing around with materials and environment.
Rendered it for 10 hours overnight. I thought it be cool to render it out big enough for an A2 poster at 300dpi, so it was big. And I'm using a 5 year old Macbook pro laptop. It worked just fine!

Here are some pics of the process. From sculpt to the final Keyshot render to the post in Photoshop where I added the environment and details and steam and stuff.

And the KSP package! Cant wait to see what you guys do with it! I'm uploading it to Dropbox now, will post the link when it 's done. Is there an easier way to share it?

When I was younger, back in the day before computers, ha ha dammit! I enjoyed painting garage kits and figurines to make them look like I wanted them to, and build little sets and stuff for them. Competing with my friends in a friendly way. This is almost like that was.

Finally! It took the whole day to upload. Internet is slow here. Grab it while it's fresh!

"Let me know if you would like the .KSP file"

File size is 450mb zipped

Interesting thing, the obj and texture maps by themselves came to 1.4GB and the Zbrush file is about 850mb. The ksp file clocked in at 470mb with everything in it.

Can't wait to see what happens! Like little Kevin eggs all over the world waiting to hatch. Ha Ha

Rex

Great to see the ZBrush sculpting process! Thanks for sharing the KSP, downloading now to play around with :)

Dreamsmith

Cool Rex! Hey is the file working?

Despot

Well, here is my interpretation of Kevin - using a procedural brass and a custom studio HDRI

Hope you like it
