Render problems v5 - puzzled

Running version 5
I'm panicking a bit here....
Rendering in v5 and the results in the render window are inferior to the results in the real time window. I hadn't noticed this in v4.
I'm rendering for an hour and this render (8.2"x4.6" @ 300dpi)  is 21% done, but, from experience,  I would expect the image to be much nicer than this.
I have lots of jaggies and the image seems much less refined and I don't think it's going to get any better.
Haven't changed anything on the PC.
Is there anything I can check?

I think nothing is wrong here. I guess your preview is simply scaled to fit the preview window.
Does clicking the 'Zoom to 100%' button fix your aliasing issue?
Aliasing of the preview image can happen if it's not scaled to 100%.
