This is one of my original fashion designs.  If one can imagine: it's a high-top sneaker restyled as an elegant oxford.  I live in California, and out here people tend to dress down more than dress up.  So for this type of cultural mindset, I suspect a versatile men's shoe like this might have a big appeal.  For now, I'm thinking the material would be a thin formed composite of patent leather and micro-suede.  The geometry was created with Sketchup 8 Pro (with Soap Skin & Bubble plugin) and the rendering in Keyshot 4.

Nice surfaces from SU, let me more about the plugin has it added thinkness to the model? if it easy to use to get the surfaces you have achieved?

To create the organic curves for the shoe's surface(s) I used the Curviloft plugin, which is part of the Fredo6 Collection.  The link for that is here:  http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pauthor=fredo6
And here is the link to the Soap Skin + Bubble plugin that I also used:  http://www.tensile-structures.de/sb_software.html

I realize that I could spend more time on the technical aspects of my designs to make them appear even more realistic, but for me that misses the point, which as an artist, designer and inventor, is for me to develop an idea just enough on a visual level for people to grasp what I'm communicating, while also leaving space for the imagination, and for future [potential] product development.
