My bump map is not coming in clean as it should.  There are multiple spots all over the texture that looks as if its not the bumpmap depth. You can see it clearly in the sample render. Not sure if this is a bug or I'm just completely overlooking something very simple. It displays and renders completely fine in Maya and 3dsMax. Which leads me to believe there is an issue within Keyshot.

In any case I've tried a few remedies without any luck:

1. making the bump map higher resolution from 1k to 4k, no improvement.
2. Switching out different maps that have differnt variations of lined patterns
3. Re - UV map the model several times.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Attached is the project file from Keyshot and Maya along with the maps used and a sample render with the issue.

Thanks in advance!!

We will take a look.It looks like a box map, but let us investigate.

Poly count is really low. This might be the reason.

does polycount make that much of a difference in this case. I will try smoothing the mesh to add more subdivisions. However, It does work completely normal in maya/3dsmax with the current polycount.

It is just a guess. Max / Maya are doing all kinds of things to work with as little polys as possible, because they can't handle large amounts. KeyShot doesn't, since it handles millions of polys with ease.

Low poly count was the reason. I applied a mesh smooth with 3 divisions to finally get smooth looking bump maps in Keyshot. Pretty dense mesh just to get good looking bump maps, but KS handles dense meshes well so no biggie.  I wouldn't have thought to up the polycount that high, Thanks for the heads up!!! Here's a before and after of the mesh to get desired result for something as simple as this, HA!
