We upgraded to Keyhot 7 and NW Renderer 7.0438

When i send a job to the network there is no Progress transferring the job to the network. After 12 Minutes it times out.

In the log there are a lot of errors.

We had no problems with keyshot 6, no AV running.

Any Ideas ?

Hi Mario,

Please get in touch with support@luxion.com for this issue.
I presume you are keeping everything (Manager, Workers, Monitor) inside a single LAN?
Also, it always helps if you can share the scene data with us.

Thx for the reply - its a 4GB Bip File.

I'll contact luxion

The Render Manger/Monitor PC and the Render 01 - 04 (Workers) PC's are on the same lan. (192.6.1.xxx)
The Keyshot PC that sends the job to the Master PC is on a different IP  (192.168.30.xxx) bit is also a Worker

With keyshot 6 it was no problem at all

Hi Mario,

I believe we identified the root cause for this issue and have fixed it.
We will issue a new build shortly.

Marco,

Can you try and install this new build (7.0.442)?

Let me know if this solves your issue.

The new version is not working.

The Error on the Monitor / Manager seems gone (No errors in the Log) , no red x icon.

On the workers i get an error. Attached the log

We could do a teamviewer session if you want to check configurations  - that would be possible.

We would like to test your scene ourselves first.

You can send via https://keyshot.wetransfer.com/. Send to dries@luxion.com.
You can only send 2GB at a time. If your ksp file is larger than 2GB, then you can use e.g. 7-Zip to split it up in smaller volumes.

It is 1 7zip file

I'll send you the passwort per pm.

I tested the step file i used for import - with keyshot 6 the bip file has double the size as in keyshot7.
The optimization in Keyshot7 is nice.

The biggest Keyshot6 bip i work with  has 11GB and was no problem to send through NW Renderer to our Render farm...

When you open the bip you'll see that there are problems with "ä, ö , ü"
The step file import had problems with this letters. This was fixed in an earlier version of keyshot6 bit but was broken in a later update and not fixed in keyshot7.

Edit :
My Workstation is a dual socket Xeon System with 28 Cores  + 28Cores HT  (2.4GHZ)  and 128GB Ram and a PCIe ZDrive

I testet with different tessellation settings for my 3rd Project - 1Gb  - 4GB

I also set the IP's for Direct connection as you advised.
I did a test rendering with the 1GB Bip file in 4k - that worked.

Then i tried a different project with a 4 GB Bip file.

The files seemed to be transfered to the workers but after a few minutes all workers lost connection to the master and on 3 workers
the Process crashed and got stuck like yesterday when we did the teamvierwer session.

On my PC i only use the Monitor - every few Minutes i lost connection to the master and the monitor reconnected.

On The Master PC i got an error message  - not enough memory   (It has 8GB Ram) - WIth KS6 NW Renderer i never had memory issues on the master.
The Master is a VM - so i'll set it to 32gb RAM for testing

Ill attach a few Logfiles from the workers / Master pc

Hi Mario,

Could you give an overview (as detailed as possible) of your Network Rendering setup?

  • What are the specifications of each machine? CPU, RAM etc.?
  • Does every machines have sufficient free storage?
  • Are all machines running Windows 7?
  • Is only the Manager a VM?
  • What is the network infrastructure? Are all machines on the same LAN?

I know it is a lot of information, and I think I already know some of it, but I want to get the complete picture.

Dries

Mario Stockinger

Render Master is the only VM

Render Master and Render 01-04 are on the same lan  (192.6.1.x) . Keyshot PC is in the Normal Workstation lan (192.168.30.x)

Render01 - Render 04 have 48GB Ram and at least 160 GB free Disk Space. (Old ESx Servers)

Render 01 is an old single socket Server  with total 4 Cores  (No HT)
Render 02-03 are Dual Socket Servers with 2 CPUs  total  8 Cores (No HT)

All Cpus have 2.4 Ghz

Keyshot Workstation PC has 128GB Ram  256GM PCIe Drive    Dual Socket with 2 CPUS total 28 cores no HT    , 2.8GHZ not sure.

Render-MAster is a VM , 32GB Ram 40GB free disk space.  8 Cores no HT 2.4 GHZ

All machines are running W7

DriesV

Thank you for the information.
Do all machines have Gigabit Ethernet?
