Hi keyshot team.

Keyshot is already perfect as it is, but I also know that the keyshot team is always looking for new features which could make keyshot an even better choice for customers.

So here are a few ideas:

  • New material type: Fur. (handy for almost every carpet, towel etc. does not need to be "hair")
  • New material attribute: displacement maps (doesn't need explanation I guess)
  • New light: beam... maybe by using a fog-effect.
  • Tagging system for environments and backplates. These tags can be "extracted" from the file name, or users can add them themselves. This could also give advice, for example: one searches for desert road, and the correct selection of HDRI's appear. After selecting the environment, keyshot will automatically suggest fitting backplates.
  • Motion blur for spinning objects (like wheels)
  • Measure tool (ruler). and 1:1 conversion of dimensions from imported model. 1cm in (for example) solidworks is equal to 1cm in keyshot. So if I move the object in keyshot 4 units, it moves 4 cm (or the selected unit like mm, cm, m, inches, etc.)
  • Part/grid snapping, like "mates" within solidworks. For example I have build a train, and I want more waggons, I can duplicate the model and snap them together.
  • GPU support

I realise that some have been mentioned before, but I wanted to make sure my list has everything I would love to see.

Thank you for your suggestions. I can confirm that out of these suggestions GPU support will not happen. There is no benefit in going this route.

Well, since this was a long time ago, GPU support seems pretty mandatory as the tech is pretty prominent now and is the future... ;)

instead of GPU or in addition, it woud be great to get the most out of current CPU's features.
