Two different HDRs
HDRi good quality and high resolution (10000x5000)

How to get rid of?

Chad Holton

Hi grablin, I mean John  ;)

I haven't ran across this one before that I recall. But I'll make a stab at it...
Does this issue happen with any of the stock HDRs?
Is your ring scale real huge or real small?
Also, try playing with the environment height or scale to see how it affects the reflection.

You can call me grablin  ;)
I do not remember the password for my old account. Now I John))

Ring size real small

This happens if HDRi contrast (there are sharp boundaries of black and white)
Does not happen if HDRi blurry (no sharp boundaries of black and white)

the environment height or scale does not affect the removal of jaggies

Johnjoti

I changed the size of the ring, now it a great size
But it did not affect the disappearance of jaggies

Chad Holton

Very strange indeed. I was guessing it was a very tiny ring in a huge environment so when you zoomed into the ring it would be like zooming real far into the environment, magnifying the environment's pixels. So if it is not that, I'm not sure what would cause it.
Are these HDRi's your own creation?

Yes, this is my HDRi

I make them in the Modo. There's no limit to the size of images

Also did a test with the standard HDRi. Effect is the same: if the image contrast is going Jaggies

No, in my HDRi no such a large pixels

For fun, I did a test with the same HDRi, but with another program for render

Strange, but no jaggies  :-\

JeffM
This is a bug in Keysot code or something wrong with my settings??

Chad Holton

I've rendered out a fair share of pictures and the reflections are always good. If you are getting the same results with stock HDRi and you deem the scales are fine - then it must be a setting you have turn on or off.

It might be worth bringing everything in again from scratch, when you have a chance. If you figure it out, let us know for future reference.

Thanks John, we'll certainly download your file and take a closer look.

Thanks in advance Jeff

After the download delete my link please

JeffM

Downloaded and removed.

Will let you know what we find.

Hi Jeff!
so what of it? Is there any thoughts?

JeffM

This is happening on some surfaces, so I've sent a test file to the development team.

Thanks!
